Welcome to Website Wednesday, bringing you some of the best of websites I’ve looked at recently that you can really use.
Writing Fix is an amazing resource that you’re likely to start using right away! The site is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Writing Project, and is home to interactive writing prompts, lessons, and resources for writing in the classroom. This isn’t just another site with a topic here and there that can be used as a prompt. This site includes quick, journal, daily write, left-brain, right-brain, RAFT, digital prompts, and more. Mentor text lessons are available for a wide variety of books, and materials for writing across the curriculum are also available. All of this just scratches the surface of the Writing Fix website. I think this is probably one of the top 5 “must see” websites for classroom teachers!
Earlier this week I shared the Lily (the bear) Den Cam with you. That’s actually from the WildEarth TV site, which hosts ten other live nature cams. You can watch live video of eagles, whooping cranes, and animals of the woods with your students. There’s even a hosted safari channel, with live cams mounted on a jeep that drives by all sorts of African animals, with narration by the driver. It really is amazing to watch these animals in their natural habitat!

Writing Fix is a great site. I’ve been looking for a site to help my students with their writing and this seems perfect. Thanks for the find. This will really help my students. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for sharing these great sites. I think WildEarth TV will be a great way to allow students to see animals that they might not be exposed to otherwise.

I used this website extensively when I was a classroom teacher, but I had forgotten about it! Thanks so much for this post. I plan to remind my teachers about it next week!!
